ITEM 9850. Blown Glass Vase.
Spectacular Redford or Redwood, NY blown glass vase with superimposed
gather, C. 1840. Exceptionally brilliant glass (peculiar to Redford
and Redwood) and formed to perfection - obviously the work of
a master gaffer. The vase measures 5 5/8"H and it is undamaged,
exhibiting only the expected usage wear. Vases of this type are
extremely rare and similar examples are pictured in the McKearin
texts and also included in the collections of major institutions.
